Highway & Rail Transit Station Engineering

The JLP engineering staff has performed Project Management and/or Project Engineering functions on a wide variety of highway and roadway engineering projects, with services ranging from conceptual to final design. Such projects have involved preliminary design studies to determine optimum geometric layout, considering factors, such as traffic requirements, as well as right-of-way and utility constraints. Based on these preliminary studies, JLP engineers have generated project study reports; prepared plans, specifications and estimates; provided right-of-way engineering; and designed and coordinated utility relocation, as necessary.

Structural Engineering

JLP applies our structural engineering expertise to railroad, highway, and pedestrian bridges, as well as other facilities typical of a rail station. Our structural experience includes designs for virtually all bridge types used in the transportation arena including truss, posttension or reinforced concrete box girder, segmental, plate girders, and precast / prestressed girders. As a firm based in California, JLP carefully considers seismic stability of all our projects. We provide seismic analysis and retrofit design of bridge structures.
